I wanted to answer your message about the Faith in Man but it disappeared or maybe I do not see it?? Did they delete it? I love your messages and threads and cannot stand when they allow themselves to delete them.

Truth is I know one of the Gaijinpot owners personaly.
He doesnt know I am westsan though. hahahahaha
But as soon as I tell him we may be able to clear up this communication failure/censure.

Actually, I am angry with the person who deleted our messages as the posts did not break the rules specified by the owners of the board. This board maybe needs some cleaning but I do not understand why they delete the most interesting and important messages. Are the owners of this board not worried about the escalating terrorism and the current tragic events? These problems are not so irrelevant and unimportant as to be chosen for deletion.

I'm sure that these issues are important to everyone; however, this isn't the place to discuss them... It appears as the Pot meisters are trying to keep the site defined and not becoming a mish-mash of whatever comes to anyone's mind. I'd have to agree that the site is probably of more use to everyone like this.

I have thought about this somewhat.
I was taking liberties, conciously though.

But seeing that GP wants to be limited to the Gaijin Help Line then that is thier perogotive.

Has Westsan been censured(criticised harshly,reproved) about his topics.

Or are we talking about some posts being censored by the Gaijin pot masters.

Censor n. (in Psychology) the mechanism postulated by Freud, that
suppresses or modifies desires/behaviours that are inappropriate or feared.
Maybe Westy has got the masters worried about his literature
having an influence that maybe detrimental to the current readership!

the censure is pretty erratic here.... they even edited my "Tokyo fashion faux paus" thread.
But regardless I am still pretty thankfull for the site and only hope to help make it better.

Hang on. Got to come to the defence of the moderator(s) here.

Whether ANYONE likes it or not, moderators have ultimate power on these boards and final say. And actually there's nothing wrong with that at all.

When we post on this board, we are not writing something on a nebulous webpage existing on an unspecified computer. This board is being served by a computer which costs money to run. I know no-one (even young Westy) meant to undermine the authority of the mods or question their generosity, but it has to be remembered.

We don't pay money to be here, so we have to put up with the rules.

You can always make your own board (the software's free and there's no shortage of low cost bandwidth in Japan). It wouldn't be the first time people have upped and left boards to start another either.

Personally I like this place, and am grateful to the mods for providing the space (as I think we all are).
