Default Showing up then where to go????

    Ok here is the situation.

    What I will have ready.
    -Money, Accommodation, Cell Phone (friend's)
    -BA Degree - original copy
    -TESL certificate - original copy
-North American Style Resume + Cover Letter
    -Clothes (Suit, belt, tie)
    -Return ticket 3months

    What I don't have.
    -Work Visa
    -24/7 access to the internet
    -Work experience

Ok so where should I go from here??? I read most of the posts on the forum already but I need a hand here now. I need some advice on where I should find the jobs!! What city is the best?? What kind of places post jobs? Are there any headhunters or agencies I can contact??

Any advice on what to do if I just walk in to some language school??

Can anyone please give me some steps on how to get a job when I am already in the country???

    Any help appreciated. Thank you.

I plan to go to Osaka first and then to Nagoya.

Show up in March, have plenty of ads in hand and know where the Internet cafes are (or borrow your friend's computer and Internet access), write in advance of coming, and hope for the best.

Where to look? Start here. http://www.gaijinpot.com/c_ed.php

Don't just walk into any potential employer. Call ahead, plan a visit, then wear the suit and bring a resume. (Cold calls rarely work, though. Answer ads instead.)

P.S. I hope you packed a shirt, socks, and underwear to go with that suit.

I hear people say it because its already March... but I've been hearing people say Feb, November, April, etc.

Which month is best??? I have no idea.

April is the start of the year for schools and businesses. So, March is a big hiring month.

    Default why march...

this is the schedule for university students

nov and dis : seeing seniors and experienced workers from companies they are interested

january : filling entry sheet from www.rikunabi.com or www.job.mycom.co.jp

february : going to kaisha setsumeikai or company introduction seminars, submit curriculum vitae or resume

march : exam for suitability (tekisei kensa shiken)

april : exam for general knowledge (SPI)

april, may, june, july : 1st, 2nd, and 3rd interview for students

july or august or sept : results

Yes.. that is why march... march means.. you have to start. This applies to fresh 3rd year and master 1st year undergraduate student, not for an experienced worker.

    Does that help?

Sorry, but that schedule is not appropriate.

University jobs are usually advertised 6-8 months in advance (for April start dates usually, yes). That means the interviews and ads are not usually in March (unless a school suddenly loses an instructor).

March is popular for reasons stated above. Public and private schools start their school term then. Many eikaiwa follow suit because it is the beginning if the fiscal year.

Arrow I recommend that you ...

    investigate NOVA.
    Have a look at www.teachinjapan.com
I expect to get lambasted / flammed for this suggestion; but it is given in good faith.
    Cheers ... 16b
