Obtaining Koseki

I have noticed some talk about "juminhyo" and "koseki" and I have also heard that it is possible to have them sent to you out side of Japan. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it possible to have your wife`s koseki sent to you outside of Japan?

Yes no problem..I done it a few years ago, you can either get a member of her family who is registred on it (father, mother) to pick it up and post it
OR you or your wife can get it, just send a letter to the city hall (in Japanese) with a return address and of course enclose the
fee and postage cost. Ring the city hall to find out how much it costs and how they want payment
