    Default Tokyo-Osaka rivalry

Had an interesting conversation with my wife's uncle and aunt when they came to Sydney during the week (they're now in Melbourne for a couple of days before heading back to Japan).

Although he is a born and bred Osakan, I was surprised when he told me that if I wasn't going to Tokyo to work, don't bother returning to Japan.

What surprises me a little that he didn't take any swipes at the Kantou region at all when he said that I had made the right decision to go there.

Is this common? I though Kansai people never let an opportunity to rip on Tokyo go by?

well, i hear that nobody really cares about the osaka-tokyo rivalry. somebody told me once that us outside folk blow it up and the natives could care less. she was a _____, though, so i don't know if that's true.

all i can say is that i represent the K.SAI. fo real.

You may be right to a degree there Booker T, but you would think a rivalry would be but a natural thing.
