What's the going rate for Japanese lessons?

I'm curious on schools versus private individuals and group classes versus private lessons.

I have a private teacher in my neighborhood who charges only 2500 per hour. Lessons at community centers are given for free, which I go to once a week.

You can try here: Learn Japanese In Singapore, I went to see a preview at their school. They're quite a new school and use audio-visual aids. The teacher looks quite experienced too.

I think basic Japanese 101 at a community college will cost a few hundred dollars. Skype lessons can be cheap, but not always
that good. Some charge around 1500 yen per lesson which might be something you can try from Singapore.

I do lessons at the International center in my city. 2 days a week, 1.5 hour lessons each, ￥1000 for 6 months.
