One of my favourite places..(and a great secret) is at the top of the Star Hotel opposite Yamashita Park in Yokohama.

On the roof they have a great beer garden, its always filled with locals, foreigners and Japanese, and the beers are resonably priced (ticket system)

Grab a table and beer, and watch the sun set over Tokyo Bay..beautiful!!!

Chinatown is a good place to drink. There are military types in the larger clubs in Yokohama but not so many in the smaller bars. Maybe you shouldn’t write off places where the military hangs out, perhaps you could run into BAB.
