Had a rather brief foray into that kind of heavy music, but it didnt last too long.
cool track, if only for the memories associated with it now.

That is, if I can get the thought of him spazzing uncontrollably in a weird room and retro hat out of my mind! hahaha

I was thinking of buying the album, but $14 for 8 tracks feels like a bit much if I can't preview the album first.
Nahh mean? (I know it's available for $9, but I wouldn't feel right about paying for it and not having the CD-quality track for a Radiohead album. They put too much effort into the details to have it filtered.)

    ...keeping the thread going.

I didn't really dig Sufjan's new albums until I saw him perform them.
The day after the show, I bought them both.
    $8 and $5!!!
    I'm super-pleased to have spent $13 on 19 tracks of thoughtfully-created sounds.

btw, His performance was immaculate and gravitational.

The Mars Volta are pretty hard to get into and even I find them a bit much sometimes, but after a week of solid listening, I think this is the overall best album they've ever done.
I found TMV by accident when I was searching for John Williams' (I think) orchestral pieces for each of the planets in our solar system for a friend of mine. I immediately fell in love with them. That was in 2003, shortly after De-loused was released. It remains as one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. However, as soon as I heard them starting to get crazy, over-the-top psychedelic (right after Frances The Mute), I couldn't handle them anymore. They're all ridiculously talented musicians in their own way, but their style went south a long time ago. Now, I feel like you've gotta be totally gone on drugs to really get into them.

De-loused still gives me chills. They'll never come close to topping it, but you've sparked my interest in their newer stuff.

Sorry, but I couldn't even make it through half of the first track.
Their sound is way too typical of all of today's pop-hopefuls.
Trying to lace a pretty female voice over an attempted metal sound simply doesn't work.

In other news, I was able to listen to the new Radiohead album in its entirety for the first time today and I was not displeased.

    Actually, here it is!
