Hello!
There seems to be a couple of "experts" hanging out in here so I´ll just throw out some questions and hope to get some useful feedback.
I´m a young man in my early twenties that is very interested in finding work in Japan, you probably read that sentance about a million times but before you yell something about reality checks just hear me out, ok?
My motives for wanting to find work in Japan are many... (exept for the same old "exiting to work overseas and interested in the culture" BS that goes for just about anyone) I actually have a family connection to Japan, my fiance is Japanese and she have been living with me in Europe for some time now, we both wish to live in Japan for the future, for the sake of myself and my loved one(s) I have found that it is the best long term soloution. I´m stating this just to establish that I am highly motivated as I both can provide the same old motives as anyone as well as a real one.
Now arises the question weather I am qualified for work in Japan or not, this I simply do not know that is why I´m posting this thread.
Here is a brief summary of my Education/Experience, I realize some or maybe even all of these "merits" have no value whatsoever in Japan or anywhere else for that matter but I´m including them just to know I havent overlooked anything:
* Decent grades from Highschool and below
* College degree in economy
* Buisness English Certificate
* Proven ability to speak and write english in work related situations, please note that english is NOT my native language but I am fluent and it takes a native to realize that I´m not a native.
* Native language is Swedish ,other language skills are Norwiegan(intermediate) and Danish and German(both basic).
* 2 Years work experience as an insurance administrator with a major Scandinavian Bank. Proven skills in life insurance administration.
* 1 Year mandatory military service involving both traditional military skills and more office related "deskwork"
* Proven communication/social skills (by reference)
* Some experience with political work that I will not dig to deep in as it holds little interest even with swedish employers. Worth mentioning however is that i have been member of a political council of some local importance.
* Some limited work experience with kids
* Some manual labor work experience that I doubt would be of any interest.
* I do have the skills but not the money to set up a buisness, also I suspect setting up a buisness in Japan involves a myriad of paperwork and a great deal of investment capital, is that so?
What kind of employment do I want?
Without wanting to seem desperate wich I am not, I would be interested in any employment that is above Coal-mine level, I am young and I do not yet have the burden of supporting anyone else, my spouse will have no trouble finding employment in Japan but It is not under any condition an alternative to let her support me. However I am not concerned about a weather its a steady job or not, I have enough money saved to endure shorter periods of unemployment(Yes I do know about the high living costs in Japan).
I have understood a good way to get a "foot in" is to find job as an english teacher..... Any tips on how I go about this? Are my qualifications enough? Do I have other options with my experience?
I am greatful for any good advice.
