I have an interview with Nova this week AND I have a tongue ring? Should I take it out? but that means it will be closed forever.

Yes, and lose the *(^&*@% ring too.

depends if you're a guy or girl
hehehe
don't cry for me
If it's a girl, and she's got a *(^&*@% ring, I wonder if it's that hot limey dancer I hooked up with about 4 years ago. Can't remember the chick's name for the life of me, but she was black, from London, and talked all the damn time. Smokin hot though.
It ain't you izit baby?
Lose the ring. It's not professional. Imagine going for an interview at a bank with a tongue ring. It's not gonna happen. You can always re-pierce once you get the job.
I can't believe someone even needs to ask this question...
Japanese education is a conservative business, whether public or private school. Lose the tongue ring, for God's sake, and grow up already!! If you don't like it, go live somewhere else...
I am currently a short term exchange student at Hiroshima University with a college student visa. I already have a B.A. from my university and have decided I want to teach English in Japan. My question is this: today I was told by my program coordinator here in Hiro. U. that technicaly I must return to America upon completion of my exchange program in August. I want to know if it is possible for me to set up a full time teaching position in Japan before I return to America and then come back to Japan. I only have to RETURN to America to complete my exchange program requirements. I would be able to come back to Japan in a few weeks after that. Is this a workable situation for english schools to offer me a job prior to my technical return to America?
yeah it's possible. what the hell does it have to do with a "tounge ring" though?
MB, why don't you apply to some schools and see what they say?
You should start a new thread for a new topic, by the way.
Yeah wonky!
and YOU need to spell "schools" right.
you can get a flesh colored tounge ring, put in it, and it should go unnoticed. That's what my friends back home used to do.
Just be sure not to sit there playing with it, they might catch on....
keep it! i know many people who have them, many many. come on people, or should i say boring dorkasouruses. NOVA is not a professional business bla bla. its a sh t company that keeps you in debt and makes you at the mercy of them for a visa. open your own school with some people or something if you want to teach english, open a resturant whatever. just quit being so plain, please. you moved to the other side of the world and you are in a constant state of fear.

I always wondered if a pierced tongue had any effect on your eating, though I know personally that pierced ears do not affect your hearing.
Caveat emptor as always.

Having a tongue ring myself, I would suggest that you go buy a retainer, which is a clear plastic stud without the barbells. Unless you have a really large gaged piercing, no one will be able to notice that you have a piercing. Also, it's not very likely that you'll be asked to remove it, because it's hardly noticable when you talk, unless you open your mouth widely.
