Yahoo BB charged for introductory period

very delayed, but..
i tried posting about this problem on eikaiwa.net (through a link from bbapply, the unofficial english support) but no respond for a month. will try here, please help!

i signed up for yahoo bb last august (i know, i know). it took me forever to figure out what/when they were billing me. when i did (a month ago) i saw the following:

so basically, on my september bill there was a charge of 2021 for calls made from 8/22 - 8/31 (i signed up a bit before 8/22 so that sounds right in terms of when i started using the service) and 13,945 for calls made in september.

as i understood it at the time, i was to get two months of free phone calls to the united states and local numbers (not PHS, not cell phone numbers) in japan. i made a ton of calls to the US and a ton to local numbers. some to cell phone numbers. this wouldhave been the remainder of august and the entirety of september. does it not work because they appeared on bills dated one month later (e.g. september calls on october bill? but isn't that normal?)

there is no credit for these amounts on either bill, although all other amounts (eg. ISP service, modem rental) are debited and credited.

can anyone explain this? better yet, can anyone advise on what i might do in the case (which i believe to be true) that i have been incorrectly charged
