A friend of mine saw an American with 2 years time in Japan and only basic Japanese ability. So can even gaijin work in service industries?

There's a dude with a びょるん nametag at the Subway sandwich shop in the dentsu building, Shiodome.
Too afraid to ask him but he seem Nordic enough.
Me: ...can I have extra olives on that?
Björn: Japp
Japanese Cashier: ほかに何か注文ありますか
Me: är you äeh ないっす。

Slavery is slavery, regardless of who is imposing it upon whom.

Haha, we have all been there. Would have been fun to see his response on "ありがとうね、ビョルンくん"
& apropå det, haha, was this girl a meet a year back thru a very cute and good friend of mine, she was swedish and the first thing she asked me was "何年間日本語勉強した?"
Sigh.
I was like "馴れ馴れしくすんじゃねえ! ...idiotjävel" and havn't been speaking to neither her, nor my cute friend ever since.
