Yup, 店長 was handling the cash and Björn the sandwiches.

As often in these situations we knew about the absurdity of the situation but choose to remain silent and just get on with our lives.
At least we were not having our brief conversation in Japanese.

But if you really want to be a success in Japan become a tenured-university professor (like me).

& apropå det, haha, was this girl a meet a year back thru a very cute and good friend of mine, she was swedish and the first thing she asked me was "何年間日本語勉強した？"

Sigh.

I was like "馴れ馴れしくすんじゃねえ！ ...idiotjävel" and havn't been speaking to neither her, nor my cute friend ever since.
