DId Softbanks flat-rate plan go up?

I could have sworn it used to be 4400 yen but now I see it's 5980 per month. Was I dreaming that price?

Also what's the deal with emoji on the iPhone? Can emoji be viewed on other carriers like Docomo and AU an vice versa? I just tried with my emoji enabled touch but none of the emoji I tried could be viewed by either device.

Its still available (until Jan 2010 unless they extend it for a third time), but its an iPhone-only campaign thing.

You can get your rate reduced to the campaign price if you're paying the higher rate on your iPhone but you actually have to go to a Softbank store and ask for the rate change, its not automatic.

So after the campaign ends does your fee go back up to 5985 or is it one of those things that you can get grandfathered in? Because while paying 4400 is pretty sweet, paying 5980 is a little rich for my blood.

AFAIK its permanent as long as you get switched onto that plan.
