    Default advise - unqualified jobs?

    Hi guys,
I got a friend living in Tokyo under a dependent visa who is looking for a job. Male.
He is unqualified (in the sense that he doesn:t have a BA or B.Sc, just high school).
Physically he is pretty fit. His japanese is close to 0 (like mine, arigato, sumi masen
and katsudon). His english is OK.

Any advise about where to look for a job, areas, sectors, anything?

He is a good fellow and I wanna give him a hand.

    Any comment welcome.

    jj

Ps. yeah, i know, not the ideal situation for him, but, life is life.

Maybe you should mention his work experience.

He could teach his native language to people.

His language is minoritary - he already tried that.

He doesn:t have any qualified work experience (jumping from unskilled job to unskilled job
    back in his country).

Ps. I may sound negative, sorry. He is a nice guy, and I feel sorry for his situation. Thanks for
    helping Since1990.

Unless he has skills that Japanese need or he is able to function in Japan without someone having to hold his hand then the guy is probably SOL. It would be like someone who cant speak English trying to work in the US or UK. I cant think of any job where Japanese skills are not necessary and he cant speak English unless hes in IT etc.

I have seen companies in Kansai advertise for translators of Minority languages e.g. Farsi (Iran), Purdu, Cambodian.

Maybe laboring or factory jobs. If he bones up on legal jargon can probably get work as a legal interpreter for foreign-born defendants.

I'd be a hypocrite if I were being an a$$hole to people who weren't a$$holes first. I'm not.

He should try looking for barwork in a foreign orientated bar.

I do not consider farsi a minority language...
    But I get your point.

As I said, he doesn:t speak japanese, so, legal interpreter seems out of the reach.

For the laboring or factory jobs, any recommendation? Any particular job-office one can visit? Hello Work?

    Thanks kansaiben!
