Default Obama administration fingerprints on Ecuador coup attempt

    http://www.voltairenet.org/article167155.html

With Nobel Peace Prize laureate Barack Obama, coups against unaccommodating Latin American leaders would appear to be back in style. After Honduran President Zalaya’s overthrow in June 2009, Ecuador’s Rafael Correa was the latest target. An outspoken member of ALBA and Hugo Chávez close ally, Correa had been giving Washington a tough time. Behind the abortive coup, Wayne Madsen’s investigation not only unveils the modus operandi of the CIA, but also lays bare Mossad’s murky activities inside Ecuador.......

The article you linked is interesting. And just one more piece of evidence that the imperialistic foreign policy of the US is consistent, regardless of wether Dems or Repubs are in power.
Dems and Reps are just the same thing. That is why I laugh when reps yell "Obama is a communist". merikens wouldnt know a communist if it hit them in the face.

Actually Dems are worst. with their "lets spread the liberty and freedom" thing. Reps just want the oil
But in the end the same thing. A very very naive policy and making friends with the wrong people...

Just what it means. Besides why should we care about what happens in some Banana Republic that just so happens to have a coup once or twice each decade.

You are right, I didn't think of it. After all, you are not asking anyone on the planet "why should (anyone) care about what happens" when some airplanes are crashing into buildings, where some huge corporations happen to have their offices, who happen to make their profits in those banana republics after sending in the CIA and the army first....

Yeah, that's just the point why should we care? It's not like we are doing anything constructive as regards that country. Now if you were an aid worker and doing something constructive that would be a different story. But no, you are sitting all nicee and comfortable in a First World country and enjoying the fruits of an extravagant lifestyle while whining about the injustices we impose upon those less developed than we are.

Now if your brain were not that riddled from the great american pasttime of too much alcohol or other drugs, you might have some memory left, that would remind you of an earlier conservation in which I already told you, that I spent 15 years of my life in India most of it running an AIDS testing clinic.
But, excuse me, I als forget details... :
you are an american, why be intersted in facts, when you have the bigger gun...

Look... I am patient... the Chinese who are certainly not my friends, still, they will soon do me and the rest of the world the favor to put the US out of business and make them turn to isolationism... you have not the slightest idea of how many bottles of Champagne are already in the fridge to be opened on that day.

I AM NOT A FUKKING AMERICAN!

And you seem to fail to realize that should China with its export driven economy pissoff the US or Europe as they are doing of late will see sanctions and much worse. I'm not a fan of the US but I fear that China if given the power and reach of the US will be much worse. Hope you've been brushing up on your Chinese language skills and you know how to beg for your life when they come rolling into your town just like they did in Tibet.

As long as they leave Costa Rica alone, my parents have a winter home there and the Costa Ricans love Canadian expats. Besides what can you do with a Banana Republic other than cornering the market on fresh fruit, weed and coke?

We legalized the latter two already in Canada and the Americans cross the border in droves to pick up their drugs and fill our tax coffers.

Weed is legal in Canada? Well, maybe if you be talkin' 'bout dandelions.

But I don't get why Americans would be rushing in droves to Canada to buy dandelions. Prohibition done ended long ago. And now they ain't got no more need for dandelions.

I read the article. It's hardly in the tone of impartial reporting, and none of its factual allegations are supported. The author quotes, perhaps in or out of context, certain individuals, who may or may not know what they're talking about.

There aren't any "fingerprints" offered here, just arguments and opinions. There may be some grain of truth behind the allegations, but it's being exaggerated, mischaracterized, spun into an essay that's no more than anti-American propaganda.

We're seeing a lot of this kind of essay based on distorted or unsupported facts here lately; it IS political season in the US.
