It's supposed to mean this thread hasn't gotten any attention, because coups are out of fashion. I guess sarcasm without eloquence just comes across dumb.

The article you linked is interesting. And just one more piece of evidence that the imperialistic foreign policy of the US is consistent, regardless of wether Dems or Repubs are in power.

Dems and Reps are just the same thing. That is why I laugh when reps yell "Obama is a communist". merikens wouldnt know a communist if it hit them in the face.

After all, you are not asking anyone on the planet "why should (anyone) care about what happens" when some airplanes are crashing into buildings, where some huge corporations happen to have their offices, who happen to make their profits in those banana republics after sending in the CIA and the army first....

Now if you were an aid worker and doing something constructive that would be a different story. I'm not a fan of the US but I fear that China if given the power and reach of the US will be much worse. I read the article. It's hardly in the tone of impartial reporting, and none of its factual allegations are supported. The author quotes, perhaps in or out of context, certain individuals, who may or may not know what they're talking about.

There aren't any "fingerprints" offered here, just arguments and opinions. There may be some grain of truth behind the allegations, but it's being exaggerated, mischaracterized, spun into an essay that's no more than anti-American propaganda.

We're seeing a lot of this kind of essay based on distorted or unsupported facts here lately; it IS political season in the US.
