Thread: Dealing with hayfever/kafunsho (‰Τ•²Η)...

    Default Dealing with hayfever/kafunsho (‰Τ•²Η)...

It's already started. I can feel my eyes begging to be itched, and when I start, I can't stop 'til one of my eyeball flies out of my eye..! Oh, and the consecutive sneezes are another sure sign!

So how do you deal with it? Medicine? mask? nose plugs? yogurt? sickly sweet Chinese tea whose name fortunately escapes me at the moment?

Spring is the worst time of the year in Osaka, followed closely by summer...!
Why do so many people exploit Facebook in such inane ways?

some say the best way is to make a tea of the tree in question and imbibe.
... and thanks to you well_bicyclically, you helped me a lot.

My girlfriend just started using some medicine recommended by the pharmacist - its a pill you take ever 12 hrs and she says it works very well. The pharmacist was saying that for serious sufferers, the nose plugs, creams etc are all useless.

But now she's bugging me for one of those Ion air purifiers. 30,000yen for a big box that will take up room in our already small apartment (hard to justify for me since i have no problems with hayfever/dust)

Claritin (Loratidine) seems to be one of the best products - a non-sedating second generation antihistamine. Shionogi market it here.

This is what I use...can buy it OTC in the states but it's apparently prescription here. (fine with me since that just means insurance pays most of the cost)
PurpleDaisies- try "kimi no shitagi hoshii" if she hesitates, add "okane wo harau yo"

Dang, that means she didnt really need to pay 2000yen for a week's worth of the pharmacist stuff?

Will tell her to go get a script...

You should still check that your 1/3 is not greater than the US cost...

It's not, and they loaded me up with 30 days worth of the tabs that dissolve in your mouth.

Only upside to so many drugs here requiring a prescription....they end up paying most of the cost for you.

I take Singulair and Claritin, once per day.

Keeps things under control for 24 hours... I use some Visine eyedrops to help smooth things along with the eyes.

Visine is OTC, Singulair + Claritin = Prescription for 30 days.

I'd rather make a strong drink of the barley/hops or rice nearby and imbible, but thanks for the natural advice!

I will say to my dying day that real men don't wear scarves or take medicine..!
