let's just say they can afford to pay me what I ask... without batting an eyelash... or sucking their teeth.

    Default English Accountant

Try Capital Tax & Accounting Services. Foreigner who has been in JP for a while. www.capitaltaxltd.com
Fees are more reasonable than the major accounting firms here. Helped with my US taxes as well as they do our company accounting and corporate taxes here in Tokyo for our kk.

My accountant is very cheap and speaks English well enough
I pay very little for his services and he helps me with other matters as well (getting loan, my personal tax ...)

Default Here is a very good, low cost english speaking accountant in Tokyo/Chiba

Here is the website for my accountant:
    http://www.sasai-office.jp/

I've been with them for 3 years, very helpful in all business matters, not only accounting (even my personal tax return)
And the monthly cost is much lower than any other firms I got quotes from.

Maybe, but my guy (now used for 15 years) is friendly, helpful and cheap - I pay a monthly 'retainer' so it's never a big bill at the end of the year. Using him keeps my wife sane and for the last 7 years I've paid zero income tax or actually received rebates (business HAS been that bad!) Even when I was making more money than God back in the 1990s the tax bill was always under 20 man for the year.

My wife's cousin personally recommended him - so there's that whole obligation thing as well, but it works both ways and he often tells me I'm his favorite client because I never argue about the final numbers. He says I should entertain my students more - enkais not juggling on the table - and get receipts. Not really sure WHEN I stopped doing that, it used to be a regular thing...(bollocks, singing the eikaiwai blues)

Anyone got a recommendation for an english speaking accountant in Osaka? I'm on a dependent visa allows me to work part time 28 hours per work (yes I have permission for that already) and am just researching a few different ideas at the moment for starting a part time business. I'd like to skip having to learn all the accounting rules and just pay someone to put in the forms for me as either a kojin-jigyo or a KK.
