Default travel agent suggestions

Im looking for suggestions on travel agents for booking a flight home in August (during obon/3 week school holiday of course).

Most of the gaijin friendly online or similar travel agents seem to be giving me similar prices. Does anyone have any suggestions on any better alternatives or suggestions for getting any savings at all?

try STA travel in tokyo, they speak english (you can organise it over the phone so you don't have to live there) and are pretty competitive.

Just be aware that the prices advertised are not usually what you pay...I recently booked with No1 travel for a flight home in August, had to pay an extra 30,000 Yen on top of the advertised price for tax and surcharges.

Book quick as most flights are now filling up, for convenience and efficiancy I recommend HIS or No1, I understand they are sister companies.

We tried No1 and then enquired at AirNet Travel and the same flight tickets were 10,000 yen cheaper for the adults, and my son's ticket was a further 10,000 yen cheaper, as they gave him a child discount from Asiana Air, which No1 said didn't exist, so all in we saved about 40,000 yen for the exact same flights!

I don't know how it is from Japan to outside,
but I used kayak.com and bookingbuddy.com
to get my flight to Japan...
Good luck finding a good price.

They advertise in Metropolis and their web-site is at http://www.airnetjapan.com/index2.php .There are probably cheaper companies out there, but they tend to be small bucket shops and are not supposed to be as safe to deal with as they can go bust, (this is what I have heard, no idea of validity. Don't they all have to be in an association which would protect their customers in event of melt-down?). Good luck with your flights.
