Default 3 Months of Internet -- Best Options?

I'm living in Kyoto until December in a Kyodai study abroad program. I'm in a homestay, but in a separate house without phone (although I do have a connection for a phone line) or internet.

Are there any good choices for internet without having to subscribe to a contract (or a good contract that doesn't have a cancellation fee)?

Talking

To put it in simple terms = NO, no company does that. However, if your computer can access a wireless connection you can probably find a network near you. If not you can go around Kyoto and hope you find a HotSpot

When I called them up they told me it's a minimum of 3 weeks without a phone line... I'm guessing they haven't changed...

Shuv one of these into your computer:

Actually, see what Willcom can do for you, think they have an extremely low "cancelation cost".

Google Willcom.
