  • Is 30mil/year enough to live in Tokyo?

    I spend a lot of money on clothes but I don't drink, an apartment will probably cost me around 200k/mo.

    Feedback?

            30mil = $350,000?

            If that is take-home amount, then $30,000 a month (minus $2400 for rent) is defenitely not enough to live in Tokyo. Dont you read that its the most expensive place on earth?

            If that is pre-tax income, then you will likely see half of that taken in tax. Bring that measly figure down to $15,000 a month and you will barely afford to eat the super luxury cup ramen that we have here.

              Also, don't forget you'll be taking a taxi everywhere you go. That's probably 15mil/year, just for transportation.

              When you say you don't drink, you mean alcohol, not coffee, right? Because that will definitely be another 15mil/year probably, if you're buying the good stuff.

              You will be broke in no time. Maybe you can live on payday loans?

                You mean 30,000,000 yen, as in 3000H Yeah, that's enough. You might be busy at work, though.

                  Taxi's are for commoners. A person of his stature would surely not accept anything less than a chauffeur-driven Century/Benz

                    Don't forget the Anti-Monster Home Defense System. Costs a bit, but better than having your high class condo stomped on.
